AP McCoy Fancies Favourite In Ascot Gold Cup

AP McCoy fancies the favourite, Forgotten Rules, in the Royal feature race on Thursday afternoon, the Ascot Gold Cup.

Speaking to William Hill TV, McCoy said: “Forgotten Rules is a very good and accomplished flat horse. Dermot Weld has done very well with stayers in the past and I don’t see any reason why he shouldn’t win. I think he looks like the best horse in the race.”

At bigger prices, William Hill have seen support for Vent De Force and Simenon, with the latter being cut from 16-1 to 12-1.

William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke said: “Forgotten Rules is very much the one to beat and he could be a bad result for the bookies.”

Ascot Gold Cup: 5-2 Forgotten Rules, 4-1 Mizzou, 8-1 Vent De Force, 9-1 Bathyrhon, 10-1 Tac De Boistron, Trip To Paris, 11-1 Kingfisher, 12-1 Simenon, 14-1 Havana Beat, 20-1 Scotland, 25-1 Biographer, Forever Now, 33-1 Windshear, 50-1 Kalann, (EW 1/5 Odds Places 1,2,3)
