Andy Murray Wimbledon Win?

Andy Murray is a slight favourite against Roger Federer going into Friday’s men’s Wimbledon semi-finals according to British bookmakers, William Hill.

He is 8/11 to win the match with Federer 11/10.  Should Murray win the tournament, he represents the worst overall result for bookmakers and possibly the worst ever in the history of Wimbledon betting.

“It happens every year with Andy at Wimbledon,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “He is always incredibly well backed by patriotic punters and should he win it is always a standard seven figure payout on the cards. This year, however, he has been in fine form both leading up to the tournament and during it and we could face the biggest ever Wimbledon payout as punters have lumped on.”

Novak Djokovic is the 8/11 favourite to win the tournament with Andy Murray the 11/4 second favourite.

Wimbledon men’s winner: 8/11 Novak Djokovic; 11/4 Andy Murray; 4/1 Roger Federer; 25/1 Richard Gasquet
