Al Kazeem up for Arc and Ascot

Al Kazeem showed his determination and ability to win the Tattersalls Gold Cup for the second time in his career. Roger Charlton’s horse won the race in 2013 and came through strongly in the closing stages to go past The Grey Gatsby and Postponed, with Fascinating Rock staying on for second.

William Hill have shortened Al Kazeem to 7-1 from 12-1 for the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes and installed him at 25-1 for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

“Al Kazeem retains some real ability and could be a contender for many of the major races this year,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

The antepost Prince Of Wales’s Stakes favourite Free Eagle has also shortened with William Hill to 3-1 from 7-2 and after being turned over in the Prix D’Ispahan at Longchamp, Cirrus Des Aigles is out to 14-1 from 10-1.

The Prix D’Ispahan winner Solow remains the 2-1 joint-favourite for the Queen Anne Stakes (the other joint-favourite is Able Friend).
