8/1 Lab leader NOT crowned on scheduled date

As the row over the format of Labour leadership contest and who can or cannot vote continues to rage, bookmakers William Hill have once again shortened their odds for hot favourite Jeremy Corbyn to emerge as the winner -but also opened a market on whether the winner will now be confirmed on the scheduled date of September 12,2015 - offering 8/1 that he or she will NOT be announced on that date, and 1/20 that he or she will.

'We opened the market in response to queries by political punters. This has been such a controversial event that it would be difficult to rule out any conclusion, however unlikely' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

However, with one Blackburn client of William Hill anticipating a £2000 win after staking £10 on Corbyn at odds of 200/1 when he first joined the contest, Hills have now cut his odds once again, from 4/11 to 3/10 (stake £10 for £3 profit). 'Whatever price we put up about Corbyn is quickly taken, and there is little support for any of his three rivals' said Sharpe.
