King Looking for Tingle Succes
There’s a chill in the air but trainer Alan King will be hoping for a festive warmer by landing the Tingle Creek at Sandown on Saturday. Balder Succes is William Hill’s 9-4 favourite for the Barbury Castle-based handler and there is market confidence behind his horse.
“Balder Succes is easily the best-backed horse for the Tingle Creek, but the eye-catcher is the well-supported Vukovar who has shortened to 7-1 from 20-1 since we opened a market at the start of the week,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
Meanwhile in the Becher Chase, Mendip Express heads the betting at 9-1 with William Hill, with 10-1 second-favourite Chance Du Roy the most popular selection with early punters.
“There’s a good spread of money and it looks like it will be a wide-open betting race,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke. “We could see a real shake-up in the Grand National betting as the Becher is a key trial for Britain’s most famous race.”
