Khan boxing gambler kayo bookies?

A William Hill client who specialises in five-figure bets on big boxing bouts has the bookies reeling after six winning wagers, and is going for a knockout blow with a hefty punt on Amir Khan to win his high profile welterweight fight this weekend.

The man's run  began when he staked £30,000 on Carl Froch to beat George Groves in May, earning a £50,000 payout. He returned for £97,000 on Carl Frampton to beat Kiko Martinez in September, collecting £113,166.67 when he did so. He then followed up with £66,500 on Foyd Mayweather defeating Marcos Maidana, which produced a return of £74,812.50.

His fourth bet was £60,000 on Wladimir Klitschko defeating Kubrat Pulev in November, which returned him £70,000; and he came back for £60,000 on Manny Pacquaio to defeat Chris Algieri, collecting £65,000.

His most recent flutter was £44,000 on Tyson Fury who duly knocked out Dereck Chisora - resulting in a £60,000 payout.

Now he has gambled £18,000 on Amir Khan at 4/9 to defeat Devon Alexander, leaving Hills reeling: 'This betting shop pugilist punter has us on the ropes thanks to this spectacular run of form, which has so far made him a healthy £75,000 profit - and even when he interrupted his boxing for a bet on the Ryder Cup he collected £21,000 for his £13,000 gamble on GB/Europe to win!' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
