Hurricane just Champion

Hurricane Fly is now 12-1 from 14-1 with William Hill for the Champion Hurdle after winning an exciting renewal of the Ryanair Hurdle, from runner-up Jezki (who is unchanged at 11-2).

The current Champion Hurdler was asked to hit the front round the turn for home by AP McCoy, but he couldn’t hold off ‘The Fly’ who pounced magnificently under an astute ride from Ruby Walsh.

Arctic Fire produced a very good performance to finish third and has been installed at 33-1 in the Champion Hurdle market. “The Champion Hurdle is easily the most popular antepost market already, with Faugheen and The New One significantly backed.

There’s a strong possibility that the horse who has won more Grade 1’s than any other, could be running for the bookies in the Champion Hurdle in March,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.

Champion Hurdle: 5-4 Faugheen, 11-4 The New One, 11-2 Jezki, 10-1 Annie Power, 12-1 Hurricane Fly, 33-1 Arctic Fire, Irving, Tiger Roll, 40-1 Calipto, Clever Cookie, Garde La Victoire, Vaniteux, 50-1 Purple Bay, Sign Of A Victory, (EW ¼ Odds Places 1,2,3)
