Furyous £44,000 Gamble On Tyson

Will support bout overshadow main event?

Big money bets have been staked on this weekend’s big fights, with William Hill taking a £44,000 wager on Tyson Fury (at 4/11) to defeat his heavyweight rival Dereck Chisora – while the main support fight between two unbeaten Brits has seen one pugilistic punter from Hull staking £35,000 on Billy Joe Saunders – who says he’ll quit if he loses – beating up and coming Chris Eubank junior, for whom there has been one bet of £10,000 and a number of other hefty wagers – all from the Brighton area.

‘So far the support bout has attracted more betting interest than the main event’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe ‘And four figure bets have been coming in regularly. There has also been notable support for an early win for Eubank – who has been backed from 40/1 (including one bet of £200) to 28/1 to win in the first round and from 100/1 to 80/1 to win within 60 seconds.’

Hills also offer 8/11 for the Saunders-Eubank fight to go the distance, Evens not to.
