Eleven Head For Battle In William Hill Rowland Meyrick

Broadway Buffalo is the 5-2 favourite for the William Hill Rowland Meyrick Chase at Wetherby on Boxing Day, after a winning performance at Haydock in the Tommy Whittle Handicap Chase over the weekend. David Pipe’s recent victor will carry a 6lb penalty and will once again be partnered by Conor O’Farrell.

Second-favourite is Cape Tribulation for Malcolm Jefferson, who won the race in 2012 – he’s a 6-1 chance to regain the honours.

Trainer Sue Smith will also be hoping for further success in the £40,000 contest after winning the race last year with Cloudy Too. This year, Vintage Star represents the Yorkshire-based trainer.

“Sue Smith knows what it takes to win the race and she could be toasting her own Vintage on Boxing Day,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
