Hills won this award for the second consecutive year, following the success of Bambos Charalambous from London’s Edgware Road Shop, who was once again a finalist this year.
BETTING CHAIN OF THE YEAR - Awarded to the betting chain with more than 20 retail outlets, William Hill demonstrated consistency of the brand across all outlets, and introduced innovations such as WHTV and the All Time Champions Series of virtual races, which enhanced the betting experience for its customers.
BOOKMAKER OF THE YEAR - The ultimate accolade, awarded to William Hill as the bookmaker who demonstrated all-round excellence, consistently throughout the past year. The company was also a finalist in two other awards on the evening, for the Most Creative Marketing Campaign and the Online Betting Company of the Year.

I am particularly proud of Jane Noble and Bambos Charalambous for their respective wins as Britain’s Betting Shop Manager of the Year for the last two years, it is reward for a job well done. Thanks to Betview Magazine, they are deservedly recognised publicly, but these awards are also a tribute to the experience, skill and commitment of every one of our 16,000 employees, who daily, provide the best customer service within the industry. 2009 was a challenging year and I couldn’t be more proud of their achievements, it is recognition of the fact that William Hill is raising the bar for industry excellence.”
"Now in their second year, the Betview Awards continue to be the only event that celebrates the tradition and excellence of the betting industry, which continues to deliver a high level of service despite the tough economic climate. They are firmly established as the Gold standard of the betting and gaming industry in the UK and Republic of Ireland," said Justin O'Regan, Editor of Betview Magazine.
