The running bug has caught on in Sofia
This year Sofia is the European Capital of sport so more than 4000 people joined the city marathon... and among them six of our colleagues!
On Sunday 14th October the traffic in the center was diverted and all was quiet. Well, all but the area around the national stadium where the start of the marathon was. Hundreds of people warming up for the run. Among many others William Hill joined with four competitors in the 10.55km race, one half-marathon runner and a 42km participant.
The atmosphere was amazing and having a three-lane road free of cars, only for us to run on, was definitely adding to the feeling of freedom. Catching the last sun rays of October and determined to do our best we all finished with great success.
If you're wondering why the photo shows just five of us it's because Metodi was busy with the preparations for the big run. He was competing in the 42 kilometers distance and finished 24th among men!
