Constantly hungry and looking to develop. That’s Dale Gibson. As a TV Director for our William Hill TV he makes sure our racing coverage entertains customers. It’s a big change from the shops where he started a couple of years ago.
Dale’s always had an appetite for seeking new opportunities. He began life as a bricklayer and then worked at a restaurant in Majorca for eight years. Following that he landed at our Cromwell shop in Leeds and quickly became a Deputy Manager. During this time he spotted a role within SID in Leeds. Aft er a successful application he joined the team as a multi-skilled operator.
“I was involved in trialing a channel called IPTV [In Play TV]. It was all about getting information and offers to customers,” says Dale.
From there, he took on the role of a TV Director – looking aft er the look and sound of what goes out. Working in shops was a big help. Shop experience helped him understand what customers want. Gett ing to see lots of horse racing is a perk of the job. Dale likes a bet himself and is always up to date with the latest tips and now works as one of four TV Directors. He says that the team morale is great and the people are the best thing about the job.
