Good corporate governance is essential to the long-term, successful management of our business. The Board is committed to achieving high standards of governance and conducting the Company with integrity. Compliance in 2008

During the period year, the Company has complied with the provisions of the Combined Code on Corporate Governance, with the exception that, following the resignation in September 2007 of the Chief Executive, David Harding, the Chairman, Charles Scott, assumed the role of Executive Chairman until Ralph Topping was appointed Chief Executive on 21 February 2008 the roles of Chairman and Chief Executive were combined between 2 January 2008 and 20 February 2008 while the process to appoint a new Chief Executive was ongoing.
