Top Gear – Bookies Expect Viewing Figures To Smash Clarkson Finale
William Hill are odds on at 1/3 that Chris Evans first episode as presenter of Top Gear will eclipse the total viewing figures achieved by Clarkson’s final episode which peaked at 5.8 million viewers. It is 5/1 that the viewing figures exceed the record viewing figures for a Top Gear episode which comes in at 8.4 million. Should the programme be a disaster William Hill are 11/4 that Chris Evans is not commissioned for a second series.
“Surely there has never been so much hype before an episode of Top Gear and we think that the viewing figures will be impressive,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams. “The real test will perhaps be week two’s figures.”
