Sam Allardyce Press Conference: Will Rooney Keep The England Armband?
Sam Allardyce refused to confirm in his press conference whether or not Wayne Rooney will remain the England captain and William Hill are offering 11/2 that he no longer wears the armband – 1/10 that he remains in his role.
“By guiding the side to 10 straight qualifying wins and breaking the England goalscoring record in the process, Rooney has certainly not disgraced himself as captain, however, it may be Sam Allardyce’s decision to shake things up,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly
William Hill are also predicting who will make it into Allardyce’s first starting XI against Croatia. Former lieutenants Andy Carroll is a 3/1 shot with Jermain Defoe 7/2 and Mark Noble 5/2.
England are 14/1 to win all 10 of their World Cup qualifiers and 11/8 that they go through the entire qualifying campaign unbeaten.
