Di Caprio Huge Favourite For Oscar
Following the announcement of the Oscar Nominations, it’s odds-on at 4/5 with William Hill that Spotlight wins the top gong for Best Picture.
However, Leonardo DiCaprio is the hottest favourite for any of the awards, at just 1/9 with bookmakers William Hill to win Best Actor (A £9 bet returns just £10 if he wins).
“Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the greatest actors never to win an Academy Award, but we think this year he is a near-certainty to win the Oscar for Best Actor,” said William Hill spokesman Jon Ivan-Duke.
DiCaprio is not the only cinematic powerhouse to be a strong favourite, with Sylvester Stallone 8/11 odds-on favourite with William Hill to win Best Supporting Actor for his role as Rocky Balboa in Creed.
In the Best Actress category, British actress Charlotte Rampling receives her first Oscar Nomination but is an outsider in the betting at 25/1. Brie Larson is odds-on at 1/3 to scoop the award.
