Tell us about your role and what it involves:
I’m working on the system that controls player’s sessions and, in the future, also a regulatory reporting system. Both are required to meet Spanish legal requirements. In our team we are also sharing responsibility for monitoring other gaming’s backend services.
What excites you about tech at William Hill?
As we are developing the system from scratch, we have an influence on what the services implemented by us will look like. It’s also great that we set up our environment on AWS.
Which projects are you most proud of that you’ve worked on here?
Almost from the very beginning of my career at Grand Parade, I’m working on the Casino Monedero initiative. I was involved in discussions, estimating features, creating PoC and finally in the development of William Hill Regulatory Control System from scratch. Together with my team, we have already done a lot of good work, but there are still many challenges in front of us.
How do you go one better every day?
It’s easy when you work with such a great and ambitious team, with whom every day you have the opportunity to share knowledge and brainstorm. Not only am I working on personal development in my free time, but I’m also constantly learning new things during my daily work.
Can you tell us a bit about your career story?
Before joining Grand Parade I was working at two quite large companies. Firstly, I was working in the telecommunication industry, where I had an opportunity to learn IMS and 3G networks. In the second company, I was working on a product for airlines, that can be used for rescheduling crews’ schedules, in case of e.g. bad weather conditions, when flights are cancelled. But I always wanted to get experience in web applications, that’s why I’ve joined Grand Parade.
