Let's talk UX
Following on from our successful Quality Questions Meet Up #1, we were really happy to organise our latest event in Krakow with Google Developers Group the Women in Technology Krakow community. As this event was co-organised with Women in Technology we had two brilliant and inspirational women speakers:
• Laura Morinigo
During her talk, we reviewed the Voice User Interface principles to create conversations with Google Action.
Creating Actions for the Google Assistant requires a breadth of design expertise ranging from voice user interface design, interaction design, visual design, motion design, and UX writing that we’ve refined into a single discipline: conversation design.
Laura is a software developer, entrepreneur and mentor. She has been involved in the tech industry over 10 years, working with different technologies as a full-stack developer and getting involved with education projects and teaching coding. She is a Google Developer Expert, with focus on Firebase, Google Assistant, Machine Learning and Google Cloud.
• Kaja Toczyska
Kaja’s talk was about skipping the discovery phase.
Why do people tend to think with solutions rather than questions? You will learn what psychological mechanisms stand behind it and how they result in not enough time and thought is devoted to the discovery phase. I will also tell you how to prevent it and which methods and techniques you can use to ensure that you have understood the problem before jumping into the design phase.
Kaja is a UX designer. She supports the local design community by running workshops, organizing conferences and events related to the design and future of technology. She also acts as a mentor for young designers starting their career in the IT industry.
